The Community Outreach Church of God In Christ, located at 319 12th Street, East Moline, along with it’s neighbors, have experienced significant damage during the recent Mississippi River flooding and is reaching out to the community for assistance to help continue it’s mission: … to empower and enhance opportunity through assistance in education, life services, and healthy activities.

The church has headed up the flood recovery assistance initiative in the City of East Moline’s Watertown neighborhood, serving as a distribution center for food, water, clothing, cleaning supplies, and volunteer coordination.

The church has suffered losses totaling approximately $75,000.00, including its furnace, wiring and plumbing, video system, specialized cooking equipment and its van, in addition to damages to the physical structure of the building.

“After years of service and providing a lifeline to members of this community, our church finds itself in the position of needing the community to throw us a lifeline” said Pastor Larry Westbrook. “Our church family has been devastated by the extent of the losses and damages to our church as well as the property losses of others in the Watertown area. This community must recover, this is our home!”
